Summary:
Under general supervision, performs general accounting work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult in character. Prepares various accounting statements including internal reports for management and various other accounting reports. Analyzes financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as researching and resolving discrepancies. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of manual journal entries, participating in financial audits, reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts and ensuring financial records are accurate throughout the year. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Prepare monthly manual journal entries related to the bank accounts, bad debt calculation, T&E expenses and other duties as assigned for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing (typically first 7 days of the month). Reconcile and maintain balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budgets. Provide support for internal and external financial audits by following established procedures and maintaining proper documentation as required by internal controls. Provide requested information on a timely basis as needed throughout the year. Interface with management in various departments, providing information and various analyses on a timely basis; partner with Operations. Support special projects or financial analysis when needed by management. Support initiatives for process improvements. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Knowledge
Possesses and applies knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills; high level of accuracy, accountability and integrity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced PC skills, including intermediate Excel capabilities, such as pivot tables and advanced formulas. Ability to handle multiple activities successfully with minimal supervision. Previous accounts receivable or general accounting experience with data analysis skills required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent. Experience
