Job Summary
(Part-Time Daily: MWRF 10:40-1:55, Tu 10:00-1:15)
The ideal candidate . . .Collaborates with other recess staff and takes initiative to coordinate lunch processes and grade-level student transitionsTakes initiative to coordinate recess activities, as needed.Actively and frequently interacts with students in a mutually respectful and caring mannerMaintains a student-centered approachContributes to a positive environmentDemonstrates knowledge of students' needs, skills, and language proficienciesUses appropriate materials and resources to help students at recessWorks in partnership with classroom teachers and administration to ensure that students are safe and focused during their recess timeActively engages students in meeting clear behavior expectationsDemonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholdersCarries out all logistical tasks at recess efficiently and effectivelyExhibits integrity, leadership, and professionalism as a positive member of the school communityFollows duties, as assigned by the assistant principal

Skokie School District 73½ is located in culturally diverse Skokie, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. There are approximately 1,100 students in the three building school district. Nearly fifty percent of the students come from homes where a language other than English is spoken and more than 60 languages are spoken. District 73½ seeks a diverse candidate pool that is reflective of the diversity of our student body.
