Description:
The EL Teacher is responsible for providing English language instruction and academic support to students whose primary languages are Urdu, Assyrian, or Spanish. The teacher will develop and implement curriculum and strategies that meet the needs of English Learners (ELs), facilitate their linguistic and academic growth, and promote their integration into the mainstream classroom.

Qualifications:Illinois Substitute License RequiredProfessional Educator License PreferredUrdu speaker preferred for Bilingual Program
Responsibilities:
Develop lesson plans that target English language development for Urdu, Assyrian, and Spanish-speaking students.Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students at varying levels of English proficiency.Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to reinforce English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.Use various teaching techniques and strategies to ensure comprehension and language acquisition.
Length of employmen t: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, Tuesday - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Friday 8:00 - 3:00 pm

Skokie School District 73.5 is located in culturally diverse Skokie, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. There are approximately 1,100 students in the three building school district.
