A-State participates in E-Verify.\ \ Position Summary: \ \ The Assistant Vice Chancellor of Technology Infrastructure and Operations will be responsible for overseeing the university\'s technology infrastructure, including systems administration, networking, communications services, data centers, and enterprise operations. The Assistant Vice Chancellor will play a pivotal role in advancing the university\'s strategic vision by ensuring a robust, secure, and efficient technological environment to support the academic and administrative goals of the institution.\ \ Duties & Responsibilities: \ \
Provide strategic direction and oversight for the university\'s IT infrastructure, including systems, networking, data centers, cloud environments, and telecommunications.
Collaborate with university leadership and key stakeholders to align IT infrastructure initiatives with institutional goals and objectives.
Develop and implement long-term strategies for technology modernization, infrastructure scalability, and risk management.
Ensure the university\'s technology infrastructure supports innovation in teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations.
Lead and manage teams responsible for network services, data center operations, systems administration, communications services (telecommunications, hardware), and other core IT infrastructure areas.
Oversee the daily operations of IT infrastructure services, ensuring system reliability, performance, security, and availability.
Monitor emerging technologies and trends to optimize service delivery and improve efficiency.
Liaise with Director of IT Security to ensure infrastructure security, including the development of cybersecurity strategies and risk mitigation plans.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures to safeguard the university\'s technology assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR, GLBA etc.).
Develop and manage the budget for IT infrastructure and operations, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting operational and strategic goals.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead efforts to optimize IT spending, including vendor management, contract negotiations, and the evaluation of technology solutions.
Oversee the procurement of hardware, software, and services for infrastructure needs, ensuring alignment with university procurement policies.
Work closely with academic, administrative, and research units to ensure IT infrastructure meets the diverse needs of the university community.
Partner with the university\'s leadership to prioritize and execute infrastructure projects and initiatives.
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the IT infrastructure and operations teams.
Lead professional development efforts to enhance team members\' skills, knowledge, and\ \
