Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Responsible for understanding, upholding, and promoting CSG's Critical Success Factors, 1) Safety First!; 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction.* Assist the Safety Director in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management/supervisory/field personnel.* Train or arrange training for crew members in the use and donning of PPE/FR.* Partner with third party administrator to perform crew visits and report findings on safety reviews.* Inspect construction crews for compliance with company safety rules and regulations as well as all federal, state, and local agencies guidelines.* Train or arrange training for construction crews in various safety topics, safe work practices, procedures, and techniques.* Teach or arrange training for excavation Competent Person classes.* Coordinate or assist in arranging safety training for underground construction crews.* Teach forklift safety classes to employees that operate company forklifts.* Participate in the New Hire Safety Orientation training program.* Teach or participate in the Smith Driver's Training for all company drivers.* Conduct or partner in property damage and personal injury investigations.* Conduct incident investigations and assist in the JHA/HPI process and driving field understanding.* Conduct incident investigation training for field supervisors.* Administer overall division safety program, including OSHA.* Document all incidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities, and report accordingly.* Accompany OSHA safety and health compliance officers on walk through tours as required.* Provide PPE to all construction crews as required while visiting field crews.* Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.* This position is required to drive.JOB CRITERIATo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Civil Construction experience preferred.REQUIRED KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES* Civil Construction experience preferred* Knowledge of all federal, state, local, and company safety guidelines, rules and regulations required* Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential* Must have safe driving record and a valid driver's license according to legal requirements* Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.* Knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is important.* Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and supervisory skills are very important.* Must be able to maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.OTHER REQUIREMENTS* Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision/401K/Life* Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).* Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans.
