About this role: We are looking for a skilled Journeyman Plumber specializing in residential plumbing to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems within homes. The position involves physical labor, including lifting materials and working in confined spaces, and requires the use of various tools and technologies, including digital diagnostic equipment. Effective communication with homeowners is crucial, as you will need to explain plumbing problems, offer solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will perform routine maintenance to prevent future issues and keep residential plumbing systems running efficiently. In this role, you will be responsible for: Installing and connecting pipes, fixtures, and appliances such as faucets, sinks, and water heaters. Troubleshooting and resolving issues like leaks, clogs, and system malfunctions. Interpreting and working from blueprints and technical drawings to accurately plan and execute installations. Ensuring all work complies with local building codes and regulations. Performing residential service work, including troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems. Assembling, positioning, and sealing valves, pipe fittings, and pipes. Communicating solutions to customers and providing options for repair and/or replacement. Requirements Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems. Licensing: Active and valid Journeyman Plumbing License. Additional certifications such as backflow prevention, and gas piping are a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications. Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems. Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations. Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors. Physical Fitness: Ability: Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions. Communication Skills to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods. Safety-Oriented: In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Customer Service: Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction. Technology Skills: Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress. Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects. Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed. Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and 3 years of driving experience Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this job include tasks such as lifting weights (e.g., pounds regularly and occasionally), climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
