We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a purchasing agent in the wholesale industry. As a purchasing agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of products for our company.In this role, you will review inventory reports, collaborate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demands. You will also be responsible for sourcing new products, evaluating suppliers, and managing relationships.The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a keen eye for detail. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make important decisions quickly. Additionally, you should have a comprehensive understanding of the wholesale industry and be familiar with procurement software and systems.Responsibilities

Source and procure products from suppliers to meet inventory demandsNegotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and termsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to determine product requirements and specificationsEvaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and on-time deliveryOptimize inventory levels to prevent backorders and minimize holding costsConduct market research to identify new products and suppliersMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing activitiesRequirementsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related fieldProven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement roleStrong negotiation and communication skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesFamiliarity with procurement software and systemsProficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant toolsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlinesKnowledge of the wholesale industry and market trends
