Position Summary: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for our manufacturing operations. The role involves working closely with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Purchasing Agent plays a critical role in supporting our production goals and maintaining cost-effective procurement practices.Key Responsibilities:Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms for materials, supplies, and equipment.Generate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet production requirements.Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production and planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels.Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues or concerns to ensure quality and on-time delivery.Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement activities.Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and production initiatives.Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and best practices in procurement.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.Solid understanding of procurement best practices, inventory management, and supply chain operations.Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.#LI-TT2
