The
Facility Security Officer (FSO)
administers, assists and coordinates DoD and other industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Provides guidance, support and assistance to internal/external staff members concerning all security administrative functions such as personnel security, information and system security, physical security to ensure compliance with standards. Provides administrative security support associated with the receipt, distribution, inventory, reproduction and disposition of classified material. Provides oversight for programs for the protection of classified information as well as propriety information. Manages the continuing eligibility program for employees. Periodically inspects the facility to ensure physical security measures. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills interfacing with customers, government liaisons, and provide security briefings.
What you will do as a FSO (may not be all inclusive):
Administers and coordinates DoD and other industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and proceduresProvides guidance and support to staff members concerning all security administrative functions such as personnel security, information and system security, physical security to ensure compliance with standardsProvide administrative security support associated with the receipt, distribution, inventory, reproduction and disposition of classified materialConduct and/or oversee the in-processing for all employees including orientation for company policies and clearance application submissions for uncleared employeesSubmit visit access requests (VARs) using Defense Information Systems for Security (DISS)Perform status checks on current investigations, determining upcoming reinvestigations dates, and relaying the information back to the employeeLead an investigation into a security incident or violation and report all applicable information to DCSA via the required reporting methodInvestigates losses and security violations and recommends corrective actionsDevelops and conducts security briefings and security education programsProvides oversight for programs for the protection of classified information as well as propriety informationLead the Insider Threat Working GroupProvide employees with personnel security guidance consistent with the 13 adjudicative guidelines to assist them in managing their clearancesApply physical security concepts to maintain current Facility Clearance Level (FCL) and approved safeguardingManage the Access Control/Alarm System in accordance with DoD standardsAssist and support other FSO's teammatesFSO
Experience and Skill Required:
Must be U.S. CitizenTop Secret Security Clearance RequiredBachelor's degree
and
2+ years' work-related experience
OR
H.S. Diploma or equivalent
and
8+ years' work-related experience in lieu of degreeMust Pass DCSA Required Trainings through STEPP for an FSO and ITPSO; such as FSO - Program Management for Possessing Facilities and establishing an Insider Threat Program for your organization within 6 monthsKnowledgeable in all areas of security (physical, personnel, information, communication, insider threat and etc.) specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, tracking and electronic security practicesKnowledgeable of NISPOM and DCSA reporting requirements specifically in regard to security incidents and violationsExperience with shipping and receiving procedures for classified materials; prepare and track DD254s; execute program self-inspections and inventoriesExperience with maintaining and updating security documentation as required; and keep all security systems (i.e. DISS/NISS/NBIS/Access Commander) currentAdministers and maintains physical security procedures for visitor control, employee identification and safeguard of company facilities, equipment, materials and employee propertyExcellent oral and written communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences and government liaisonsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite softwareExperience working and communicating with federal/government agencies or defense contractorsAbility to work as a team and independently and follow through on assignmentsAbility to multi-task and work successfully in a fast-paced environmentNice to Have/Preferred:
