Summary:

Support the sales team, from a technical application engineering manner, with primary focus on Medical Industry implants and instrumentation components for test cuts, engineering proposals, machine demonstrations, customer startup/training and technical transfer of knowledge to the customer. Focused knowledge and experience with multi-axis (3, 4, and 5 axis), high speed machining and surfacing techniques and disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform test cuts, machine demonstrations, trade shows, events and support the development of marketing materials for the Medical Industry.Perform customer startup assistance and transfer of technical knowledge on newly sold Makino equipment at the customer's facility.Provide applications engineering support to sales team by visiting customer facilities and assisting with potential machine and engineering support proposals.Setup, generate NC program, build tooling, prove-out, and complete test cut requests from sales inquiries leading to machine orders.Perform industry specific R & D of emerging technologies providing a competitive advantage for Makino and our customers.Qualifications:

4 to 6 years of experience with setup, programming, and operation of multi-axis (3, 4, & 5 axis) machining centers.2 to 4 years proficiency in the use of a CAD/CAM system to generate multi-axis NC programs. Mastercam, Siemens NX or Solidworks systems preferred.Understanding of fixturing basics and concepts.Ability to interface with potential customers and present a professional image.Technical aptitude/knowledge and logical troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products is required.Willingness to travel around 25%.Education Requirements

2-year technical degree with 3-5 years of experience in a technical area or equivalent work experience/technical training.
