GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB DUTIESThis position is responsible for the general coordination and administration of GoTriangle's grants. The grants coordinator provides support to the Grants Manager on all grants management activity. The position manage activities associated with research and grants funding (e.g., federal grants, state grants, local grants) to include grants research, writing, and accounting. The grant coordinator will handle documentation, report preparation, and communication with stakeholders, helping to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance with grant requirements. This role coordinates heavily with the Capital Development team to manage all grant activity. This position reports to the Grants Manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManages accounting and reporting processes related to grant funding across the agency.Collaborate with funding recipients to track budgeted funds and support compliant allocation of funds based on federal grants requirements.Supports grant administration process, assisting with grant application reviews, compliance checks, and monitoring of grant-funded projects.Handles documentation, report preparation, and communication with stakeholders, helping to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance with grant requirements.Writes proposals to secure funding for the agency's projects.Researches and identifies potential funding opportunities, prepares grant applications, and maintains records of submitted applications.Maintains financial management of grants, including budgeting, financial reporting, audit compliance, and ensuring funds are used as per the grant agreement.Coordinates development of grant projects and submission of grant applications.Coordination of a grant administration activities including reporting, requests for reimbursements, amendments, budget revisions, correspondence, file maintenance, closeout, etc.Determines eligibility of expenses for grant reimbursements.Submits requests for reimbursements for all grants to NCDOT and FTA.Maintains grant financial records using the financial software system.Serves as liaison to FTA and NCDOT for grant project matters.Prepares and submits quarterly Narrative and Milestone Progress Reports for applicable NCDOT grants.Prepares and submits quarterly Narrative, Milestone Progress and Financial Status Reports (FSR) for FTA.Prepares and submits reports to federal, state and local agencies that may be required for compliance with laws and regulations affecting GoTriangle.Prepares and delivers presentations at meetings as required.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business, political science, public administration or related field.Five years of experience with Federal and State procurement laws and regulations, State contracting, and governmental accounting.Basic fundamentals of accounting experience and experience guiding effective allocation of capital.Advanced principles, practices, and procedures of grant development, monitoring, management, and reporting.Grant and loan development, administration, and compliance with special focus on Federal Transit Administration and TIFIA programs, and requirements including FTA's electronic award management system (TrAMS).Business partnership and financial fluency.Strong analytical and business case development skills.Relevant experience in government grants administration.Ability to work independently on several program objectives at once.Exceptional level of interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with government officials, staff, and the public.A working understanding of PC's including the Microsoft Office Packages.An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.Working Conditions:Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting operating facilities, during which the incumbent should observe all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and use all protective clothing and devices provided.Physical Requirements:Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
