Position Description

Our Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working across the organization to collaboratively design creative solutions to complex problems using automation. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate can plan, prioritize, execute, and manage large projects to deliver enterprise network services.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

Design, test, and promote network services and platform automation solutions using DevOps and CICD practicesPublish documentation sets for runbooks, as-built, and design referenceDevelop and maintain processes and workflows using automation to improve quality and efficiencyLeverage network management platforms and practices to run large-scale deployments efficiently and effectivelyUnderstand and promote network standards, reference architectures, and frameworksDevelop and maintain strategic roadmaps for network platforms and servicesSupport, operate, and maintain large scale, critical network environment, platforms, and servicesTriage, analyze, and perform root cause analysis for network automation related issuesProvide 24x7 after hours on-call support and support for off-hour network automation implementationsQ

ualifications

Knowledge of common application architectures and communications protocolsUnderstanding of programming and scripting languages such as Python, Golang, Bash and PowerShellProficient using automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Nautobot, etc.Experience using LinuxProficient with container technologies like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.Ability to work with nested data structures like JSON, XML, YAMLAbility to work with APIs and database query languages such as SQLFamiliarity with full stack network infrastructure functions including, but not limited to, switching, routing, IPAM, ADCs, and network controllersKnowledge of common network architectures and communications protocols is desiredUnderstanding of network security principles and best practices is desiredAbility to perform advanced packet and/or protocol analysis throughout the seven-layer OSI reference model is desiredExperience with network performance, capacity, configuration, and fault management is desiredExperience in public cloud infrastructure is desiredStrong problem-solving abilityStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentOne or more of the following active certifications are highly desired:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or willingness to complete within 6 monthsCompTIA Network+ or willingness to complete within 6 monthsExperience

4+ years of professional software development experience in a large-scale network environment3+ years of experience with architecture and design3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducation

Annual Salary$82,000.00 - $185,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
