The Aircraft Systems Engineer is responsible for developing repairs and alterations, defining maintenance specifications, evaluating new System technologies, and the technical airworthiness management of aircraft systems and related components on the Airbus and Embraer aircraft.

The Engineer will support flight and technical operations, including Line and Heavy Maintenance, as necessary, to achieve safety, reliability, and operational goals. The successful candidate will have excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills and a solid understanding of best practices to assist in building the right processes, as well as managing the day-to-day responsibilities and assist with functions of the engineering team.Here's what you'll do

Review and take action in response to Airworthiness Directives (AD) to ensure compliance with FAA, ANAC, and other regulatory agency requirements and guidanceReview and disposition aircraft systems Service Bulletins, Service Letters, modifications, and other engineering technical documents for applicability, systems safety and reliability, and economical benefitsServe as the focal point for business partners on resolving technical issues relating to aircraft systems and related componentsDevelop aircraft systems components installations and upgrades as required to meet technical airworthiness and operational requirementsEvaluate new aircraft systems technologies potential value and contribution to the airline operational and business objectivesDevelop technical data required for modifications, repairs, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems and related componentsObtain regulatory approval for modifications and repairs performed on aircraft systems and componentsDevelop customized procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance actions which are not addressed in existing manualsPrepare engineering documents such as Engineering Orders (EO) to provide technical dispositions for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance actions on aircraft systems and components, which provide benefits in accordance with Breeze objectivesEstablish build specifications for aircraft systems and componentsProvide on-site technical support at MRO locations during modification and outstations for AOG situations to return aircraft back into serviceAchieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and ExcellenceProvide on call engineering support to the operationHere's what you need to be successful

Minimum Qualifications4-year degree in Engineering with Avionics/Electrical or Systems concentration7+ years of engineering experience relating to Aircraft Systems modification, troubleshooting, and repairKnowledgeable in the aircraft systems architecture and software requirements for Flight Management Systems5+ years of experience in technical report writing skills to prepare test plans, test results, Aircraft Systems troubleshooting and analysis, and regulatory compliance reportsWorking knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21, 25, 91, and 121 regulatory requirements2+ years of experience working in a Part 121 environmentKnowledge of Embraer and Airbus aircraft avionics and systemsPreferred Qualifications

FAA DER in Aircraft SystemsValid Airframe and/or Powerplant LicenseAutoCAD drawing systems experienceKnowledge of TRAX maintenance and engineering systemEmbraer Systems trainingAirbus Systems trainingPowerPlant experience/trainingSkills/Talents

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Excellent communications skills, both verbal and writtenMust possess proven problem-solving and project management skillsAbility to develop, research, and interpret engineering dataAbility to read and understand aircraft wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and drawingsStrong presentation skills with the ability to communicate to leadershipMust be able to handle high-stress situationsAble to manage and coordinate several tasks and projects simultaneouslyAbility to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organizationMust be flexible to work weekends and/or holidaysAble and willing to travel
