Position Overview
Pantheon Data is seeking a skilled Cloud Operations Manager to join our team to support cloud modernization and transformation initiatives for our DoD client. This role involves data migration from on-prem systems to AWS GovCloud and support for ongoing cloud systems operations.
ResponsibilitiesCloud Infrastructure Management: Provisioning and managing cloud resources on the AWS cloud platform. This includes creating, configuring, and managing EC2 instances, S3 buckets, CloudFormation templates, and other relevant AWS services.Cloud Migration and Modernization: Planning and executing cloud migrations from on-premise environments to the target AWS cloud platform. Collaborate with data engineers and developers to ensure a smooth transition to the cloud.Data Security and Compliance: Implementing security best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data in the AWS environment. Maintaining compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and security standards.Cloud Automation and Orchestration: Automate routine cloud operations tasks using scripting languages and AWS automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors. Design and implement cloud orchestration workflows to automate complex data processing pipelines.Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor AWS infrastructure and applications for performance issues and potential problems. Troubleshoot and resolve AWS cloud-related incidents to minimize downtime and ensure data platform stability.Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports on cloud resource utilization, performance metrics, and costs. Analyze cloud data to identify trends and opportunities for further optimization.Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of 10 years' experience supporting AWS cloud operations.Cloud Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience with AWS. This includes understanding core services like compute, storage, networking, and databases.Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automating cloud operations tasks.System Administration: Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems for managing cloud instances.Monitoring and Logging: Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools to track resource utilization, performance metrics, and identify potential issues.Data Security: Understanding of AWS cloud security best practices and experience implementing security measures in a cloud environment.Preferred Skills and Experience
AWS Cloud Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, VPC, and experience managing cloud infrastructure on AWS.AWS Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.Cloud Monitoring & Logging: Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools like Amazon CloudWatch to identify and troubleshoot issues.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automating tasks and managing cloud resources.Security: Understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security measures in an AWS environment.Networking: Basic understanding of networking concepts like VPCs, subnets, and security groups for managing secure cloud networks.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
