JOB SUMMARY
DuBois Chemicals company is searching for a Global Network Engineer who can implement and upgrade equipment installation plans based on corporate standards, maintain each component of the network, and troubleshoot issues. As a Global Network Engineer, you'll have responsibility for setting up, developing and maintaining computer networks within an organization or between organizations. The Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring the network firewall, assessing the functionality of the network routers, switches, site to site VPN's, and ensuring all Internet security firmware is updated regularly. The Network Engineer will ensure the smooth operation of communication networks WAN and LAN.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Researching and resolving the most difficult and complex problems that other help desk levels have been unable to resolveDesign and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, UPSs, cabling, and other hardware. Analyzing and identifying trends in issue reporting and devising preventive solutionsDesign, implement, and support firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPNs. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industryOversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgradesInteract and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresBe a key member of the DuBois cybersecurity committee and performing yearly audits, Corrective Actions, and Incident Response team member.Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scaleMonitor network performance, provide network performance statistics and reports, and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.QUALIFICATIONS
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification preferred, (Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP) preferred). Meraki Cloud managed configuration.Experience designing, implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise level IP networks that include support of a heterogeneous distributed desktop computing environment required.Experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation.Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.Knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies.Experience in implementing and managing voice over IP (VoIP) systems desired.Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, DNS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, QoS, DSL, Frame Relay, and Metro Ethernet.Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.Extensive application support experience with network monitoring and analysis software,Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.EDUCATION REQUREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience)PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to travel up to 30%Ability to lift 50 lbs.
