PLEASE NOTE: This position requires an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Polygraph. To be considered for this position, you MUST have an ACTIVE Clearance Level of Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.The Sponsor has multiple application teams supporting a portfolio which is the central repository for all Sponsor’s created applications. The Sponsor provides state-of-the-art systems on cloud, physical systems, and applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and other web-based solutions. The Sponsor requires support specializing in data architecture to develop data solutions to ensure the Sponsor’s information is stored effectively and securely, system requirements are analyzed, and implement migration methods for existing data.The Data Scientist shall:Develop data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development to build, maintain, and leverage the data model, ensuring integration with corporate data standards.Monitor industry trends and directions in database technology and tools.Develop and present substantive technical recommendations to the Sponsor.Oversee the design, evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of major databases and metadata structures.Review and evaluate database performance and risk and financial analysis feasibility studies.Provide technical direction to the maintenance of major existing databases supporting evolving applications and business processes.Provide comprehensive assessments of the technical characteristics of proposals and alternatives considered to optimize database performance.Provide extensive technical, strategic advice and guidance in the creation and implementation of new data standards and databases.Provide technical oversight and direction to designated boards for integrating new technology or major new mission capabilities into the metadata and data standards and structures.Review and assess technical proposals requesting changes or upgrades to the existing databases.Serve as the lead technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design and development.Strategically plan new designs for integration into a database structure, using knowledge of the characteristics of the systems being added to the structure and the specifications for database interfaces to ensure effective integration and optimal database performance.Develop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated.Diagnose, isolate, and expediently resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure.Minimum Requirements:(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in data architecture.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with and understanding of database structure principles.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in data visualization, data migration, and data modeling.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in relational database management systems (DBMS).(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in DBMS software, including SQL Server.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in database and cloud computing design, architectures, and data lakes.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in configuration and administration of enterprise-level data stores, ETL and ELT methods, and batch and streaming data transport.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with Version control systems such as Git.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with programming languages Java and Python.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with Linux, Unix, Solaris, and Windows.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and JIRA.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, technically challenging area; ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems; assess impacts and recommend sound solutions.(Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in systems development, including system development life cycle, project management approaches and requirements, and design and testing techniques.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with Sponsor networks, systems, and services.(Desired) Demonstrated experience delivering solutions with AWS cloud services.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with AWS Cloud storage technologies including RDS, DynamoDB, and S3.(Desired) Demonstrated experience in database technologies to include but not limited to Oracle, SQLServer, and Postgres.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with Oracle Databases.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with Full stack environment.(Desired) Demonstrated experience building automation tools such as Gradle, Maven.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with the development of system prototypes and proof of concept in order to demonstrate proper application of design principles.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s authentication and authorization process.(Desired) Demonstrated experience with supporting enterprise-level production systems.(Desired) Demonstrated experience briefing technical topics to a non-technical audience.(Desired) Demonstrated experience in strong oral and written communication.(Desired) AWS Certification or other relevant certifications.
