This individual will work amongst a team of professionals, including licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, early intervention providers, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows. They will supervise or offer consultation and support to other BCBAs, some of whom have been in the field for 10 years.Under the guidance of the UW Autism Center's Director of Clinical Services, the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Team Lead will provide supervision and support to Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs- masters-level clinicians), Behavior Technicians (BTs- bachelor level clinicians) and practicum students. There are two primary job functions for this position, which include clinical supervision of individuals (including BCBAs) on the ABA Services team, and providing clinical services on the ABA team. The position requires the ability to supervise a team of 10-15 individuals on the ABA team to ensure that they are providing high quality services, as measured by client progress and client/parent satisfaction. Reliable transportation is required due to frequent traveling to multiple client homes daily, several times a week.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide clinical services on the ABA TeamProvide individual skills training for children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorders.Provide consultation to community providers who work with patients in order to develop continuity in care for the patient and their family.Complete initial client/patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, referral letters, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.Collaborate with other clinical team members in assessment and intervention and consult with other members of clinical team regarding diagnosis and intervention strategies, as needed.Meet minimum billable expectation, complete paperwork within required time frame and meet assigned deadlines.Organize and maintain computer and paper records of therapy including collecting and accurately recording data in each therapy session, graphing data, and completing treatment notes.Keep appropriate records of services provided and coordinate with the billing office and direct supervisor regarding services to meet billable expectations.This position MAY also include providing training and consultation to the broader community including school districts and community agencies as needed.Participate in community activities and events.Attend weekly staff meetings, other meetings as necessary.Provide school consultations or community trainings (if interested/qualified).Provide supervision and support for current BCBAs in their respective job rolesOversee the clinical work that the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Team is doing in their work with individuals and families affected by ASD.Ensure ABA clinicians provide high quality and effective applied behavior analysis intervention services to all UWAC clients- including supervising sessions and reviewing treatment plans.Meet with BCBAs and practicum students to check in on clients, provide feedback, support, and evaluate their performance.Responsible for performance management, implementing policies and procedures and assisting with hiring decisions and interviewing.Provide clear, accurate and ongoing feedback about job performance and ensure task deadlines are known to employees and tasks are completed within specified timelines.Lead ABA team meetings.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in ABA, special education, psychology or a related field and 2+ years of work experience.Licensure and certification, if appropriate to the field (e.g., LBA – Licensed Behavior Analyst, BCBA – Board Certified Behavior Analyst).Extensive knowledge of best-practice strategies for children ages 0-21 with ASD.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent oral and written communication skills.An approach to working with colleagues that enhances collaboration and team building.Ability to support clinicians working with individuals with ASD through knowledge of research, ability to access resources and willingness to learn about this demographic.Experience assessing behavior and synthesizing results in a written report; attention to detail, organization skills, flexibility and delegation skills.Experience teaching and designing programs for students with autism spectrum disorders, including collaboration with general education teachers, school administrators, related services personnel and outside community providers.WORKING CONDITIONS
