The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.
Director, Telecoms Program Delivery:The
Director, Telecoms Program Delivery
reports to the VP, Head of Telecommunications and plays a critical role within the LA28 Technology team. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and operational management of the LA28 telecoms program, ensuring the successful delivery of telecom services across all Olympic and Paralympic venues. The Director will translate the high-level telecoms strategy into actionable plans and ensure that these plans are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This position is key to driving operational excellence, coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring seamless telecom services during LA28.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the on-schedule and cost-effective delivery of the telecoms program in line with LA28’s strategic goals.
Operationalize the telecoms strategy by developing detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for venue-based telecom deployments.
Coordinate closely with telecom partners, venue teams, and the technology integrator to ensure all milestones are met.
Manage the day-to-day execution of the telecom services program, including tracking program progress, identifying bottlenecks, and resolving operational challenges.
Lead the delivery of telecom services across competition and non-competition venues, ensuring adherence to SLAs and operational standards.
Track and manage the budget for telecom services, ensuring cost control and identifying potential savings where possible.
Collaborate with all LA28 functional areas to manage key risks, escalations, and troubleshooting during the delivery phase.
Provide regular reporting to senior leadership, including updates on timelines, financials, and risk management.
Ensure telecom activities are in compliance with LA28 governance frameworks, including reporting and operational standards.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including telecom suppliers, venue management, and regulatory bodies.
Support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives in line with organizational values, fostering an inclusive team culture.
Background & Requirements:
10+ years of experience in telecommunications program or project management, preferably in large-scale, complex events or venues.
Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end program delivery, including partner/vendor management, budget oversight, and risk management.
Proven track record of translating high-level strategies into actionable, detailed project plans and driving operational excellence.
Experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including commercial partners, government bodies, and telecom vendors.
Familiarity with telecom infrastructure, including 5G, fiber networks, WiFi, and other telecom technologies.
Commitment to

Strong understanding of telecom regulatory environments, including spectrum management (FCC collaboration a plus).
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage escalations quickly and effectively.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, particularly during the build-up to and execution of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Frequent travel to venue sites for on-the-ground project management and coordination with venue teams.
Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid working model, balancing on-site and remote work.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree is a plus.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification strongly preferred.
Certification or coursework in telecom technologies (e.g., 5G, fiber networks) is an advantage.
The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 - $170,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
