A Brief OverviewThe Deputy Director of Environmental and Sustainability is responsible for the management of Environmental and Sustainability related activities for the Airport Authority. This includes but is not limited to ensuring regulatory compliance, providing environmental analysis, and improving the Airport Authority's environmental and sustainability performance.What you will doInterprets data and observations to assess the environmental risk, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines, and advise management on the impact.Performs contract management duties to ensure compliance with the Airport Authority’s processes.Manages environmental regulatory compliance.Evaluates and manages environmental operations and development projects.Drives initiatives to meet the Airport Authority’s sustainability mission.Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a closely related field. *An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.6 or more years of progressively responsible experience in environmental management.Proficient with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation)Valid Driver's License and a safe, acceptable driving record.ST of MI Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) - PreferredST of MI Storm Water Management Operator - RequiredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesManages People: 1-5 direct employees, 1-10 indirect employeesThe Wayne County Airport Authority is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
