Director of Landside InfrastructureA Brief OverviewThe Director of Landside Facilities, Design & Construction is responsible for planning, design, and construction of landside infrastructure assets including airport roads, bridges, utilities and other assets & facilities at Detroit Metro and Willow Run airports. Ensures that all project timelines and budget objectives are met. Manages and leads the daily activities, implementation of projects, and oversight of assigned support staff.
What you will do
Responsible for project initiation; including requirements gathering, scope definition, creation of budget and schedule, staffing, and strict reviewal/implementation of construction management contracts.
Day-to-day oversight of multiple construction projects and project teams.
Identify, monitor, and manage project issues and risks; mitigate and resolve these risks/issues in a timely manner.
Review all budgets, schedule updates, and change orders before submission to the client. Monitor and prevent major cost and schedule impacts.
Assist the Project Managers overall field operations and project delivery.
Monitor progress of each project and make adjustments as needed to keep the projects on track for success.
Track the performance of individual projects based on cost and schedule and make the necessary alterations.
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field and ten (10) or more years of increasingly responsible experience managing capital projects, architectural/engineering consultants, construction contractors and project management staff. Time management and clear and concise communication skills are required to manage team and meet schedules. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation) - Proficient
Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems/software - Proficient
Project management software - Proficient
ST of MI Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or equivalent is preferred
ST of MI Registered Architect or equivalent is preferred
Valid Driver's License and a safe, acceptable driving record
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManages People: 6-20 direct employees, 0 indirect employees.
