The Director of Sales is responsible for planning and implementing sales strategies and relationship development programs, both short and long range. This includes securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, supervising activities of sales personnel, and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of CBM while maintaining customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership in a cross-functional environment to ensure that all employees involved in catering sales have the training, guidance, and support to ensure excellent execution of the CBM Brand.

This role reports to our President and the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs the day-to-day activities of the catering sales team.

Provides leadership and motivation necessary to maximize the generation of catering sales/revenues.

Develops and maintains relationships with key clients, event planners, and venues to promote and increase business in the wedding, corporate, local, and social markets.

Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with negotiating and closing deals.

Collaborates in the development of and manages the sales department marketing budget to include tastings, entertainment, and gifts for clients.

Monitors sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plans and accurately report variances/projections to the Senior Leadership Team.

Implements annual SMART goals for each member of the team and conducts monthly 1:1 SMART goal update meetings.

Coordinates with other departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

Develops tactical sales plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs.

Manages the problem resolution process with dissatisfied clients.

Participates in hiring, training, and providing career development for all catering sales personnel.

Conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to catering sales personnel.

Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, acts as Manager on Duty (when required), and works with other management personnel to establish and implement service standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency.

Monitors competitor products, sales, and marketing activities.

Analyzes sales team performance and provides reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.

Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.

Represents the company at trade association meetings and events.

Enhances a positive company culture for the sales office.

Leads sales meetings for each brand.

Develops systemic, recurring processes for capturing, analyzing, and integrating customer feedback to ensure CBM maintains a competitive edge in meeting customer needs.

Collaborates with the Operations department to lead the execution of large catering events by anticipating needs, being present in the preparation and execution of the events, and clearly communicating expectations to all team members.

Complies with all workplace health and safety requirements, including any department-specific training regarding equipment and procedures.

Performs other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and occasionally reach with hands and arms to lift office products and supplies up to 30 pounds.
