Salary:
$80,000 – $120,000 annually

As a Project Geologist/Scientist with our Environmental Services group at PBS, you will be responsible for managing a variety of technical projects and environmental programs for clients in our public, private, and industrial sectors. This role will support PBS’s multi-disciplinary environmental compliance, due diligence assessment and site cleanup teams that require working knowledge of state and federal regulations. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with a well-established consulting firm serving a diverse set of clients with challenging business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in geological sciences, or relevant degree in science or engineering, and related environmental field experience
6 to 10 years of environmental site assessment experience
Strong critical thinking, data evaluation, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of Washington state Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – including technical writing
40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher or willingness to obtain
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage multiple assignments while maintaining clear communication with clients and colleagues
Managing and implementing site investigation and groundwater sampling projects
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments per ASTM Designation E1527 – 21
Underground storage tank (UST) decommissioning oversight
Experience with preparation of remedial investigation documents
Field collection of vapor, stormwater, soil, and groundwater samples
Working directly with clients to provide suitable pricing and schedule
Preparation of reports and presentations
Field oversight of subcontractors
