Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Senior Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the daily HR needs of the Joplin plant. Essential functions include the administration of the benefits, oversight of hourly payroll, employee relations, and talent acquisition to support business operations. This position requires an adaptable person capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee needs, and the business requirements.Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain and communicate human resource policies and procedures and administer policies as outlined within the employee handbook for all hourly employees within the Joplin plant.Partner with the Human Resources Manager to build talent acquisition strategies and manage the hourly recruiting process.Manage the FMLA and the STD process with UNUM. Educate employees and managers on the leave process and coordinate with UNUM to initiate and track FMLA leave. Maintain a weekly report to track the leave totals for each open claim.Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager and department management to provide coaching to managers to effectively administer corrective action.Monitor employee attendance and ensure proper documentation is issued in accordance with the attendance policy.Assist the HR Coordinator and Payroll by reviewing unauthorized timecards weekly and report PTO, LOA, and FMLA use to payroll to ensure accurate payroll records.Maintain employee personnel files according to Company policies.Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs, service awards, and monthly appreciation events.Responsible for new hire onboarding, including the completion of required documentation, coordinating orientation schedules, and building a positive on-boarding experience.Manage the temporary agency process to include communication of weekly labor requirements, temporary worker training, and other AFNA requirements.Assist with other responsibilities and projects as necessary.Position Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in Business Management, Human Resource Management or a related field and 1-3 years of progressive HR experience preferred.SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.Thorough knowledge of various leave management policies such as; FMLA, STD, LTD, and Workers Compensation.Experience with UltiPro, Kronos or other HRIS systems highly desired.Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational abilities and a strong desire to provide attention to detail.A true team player who is supportive and willing to aid fellow department members when needed.Solid multi-tasking skills to switch from one project to another while keeping everything moving forward.Must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information.Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc.
