Digifabshop is looking for a CNC Operator for our affiliate company, CWK Associates based in Longmont, CO.This position will run continuously. There is no expiration date.The CNC Operator will work in the Mill to produce and deliver quality and accurate products to the shop team. At times, may be required to assist the Shop team members on the Bench as production demands.Location: This position is located in Longmont, CO - onsite work is requiredPay: $20-$28 / hourIndividual compensation is based on various factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors. Primary Responsibilities include:Review shop work order for hours budgeted approved materials and schedule.Understand how the project will phase through the different production departments, Mill equipment and the expectations of the deliverables.Understand the milestones established for the project.Review the machining SK drawings and/or models for materials and tooling to be used and compare geometry to the finished parts.Production: Produce projects with efficiency, quality and to our standards.Set up and operate woodworking machinery to produce precise parts using the 3 axis & 5 axis CNCs and including the Beam saw, Edge bander, Wide belt sander, Gannomat and Shaper.Open programs at the machine, review programs for errors and material size.Review provided SKs to ensure correct tooling is called out.Call out errors in the programs, operations, tooling, or materials to the CNC Coordinator so they can address. Stage material to load as efficiently as possible.Inspect parts for quality and finish.Understand proper tooling set up, measuring, and calibration. Understand what tooling is available and notify Mill Manager if tooling breaks, needs sharpening, or needs to be ordered.Use calipers, depth gauges, tape measures, etc. to verify raw materials as well as finish parts for dimensional accuracy.Follow machine established guidelines to insert and safely secure tooling.Check tool holders, collets, and collet nuts for wear or damage.Keep tool holders and related parts clean and free from resin build up.Learn to manually run tool measuring programs to verify tool length and diameter.Understand how to run the routine to automatically measure tool length and diameter.Woodworking TechniquesUnderstand operational order of milling (crosscut before ripping, etc.)Develop an understanding as to how different materials machine. (I.E. Solid surface, hardwoods, softwoods, composite materials) Mill Captain will provide guidance.Understand the equipment's capabilities and how to efficiently produce product.Required Skills and Abilities:3-5 years as a CNC Operator.Proficiency in woodworking techniques, machinery, and tools.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.Strong attention to detail and precision.Knowledge of wood types, finishes, and joinery methods.Excellent problem-solving skills.Safety-conscious mindset.Physical Requirements:The ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently and repeatedly.The ability to stand continuously for up to 2 hours at a time.Visual AcuityManual Dexterity Lifting, carrying, moving things, standing, reaching, crouching, kneeling.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, fumes, and loud noises. Employees are always required to wear P.P.E. while on the manufacturing floor, including safety toe shoes. Wear eye and ear protection at all times.
