Job DescriptionCNC 5-Axis Programmer/Operator
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a skilled CNC 5-Axis Programmer/Operator to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the aerospace and entertainment industries, using advanced machining technology.
Position Overview:
As a CNC Programmer/Operator, you will work with various 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and multi-axis lathes, collaborating with management, machinists, and operators to optimize machining programs and processes. Your responsibilities will include programming using Fusion 360, ensuring the production of high-quality parts, and actively contributing to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Program CNC mills and lathes using Fusion 360Operate and program a 5-Axis Gantry Mill for post-machining and heat-treated partsGenerate tool lists, work instructions, and setup sheetsAssist in job planning, considering machine capabilities, tooling requirements, and team skill levelsSupport management in implementing machining schedulesOffer suggestions to improve part manufacturabilityProgram fixtures and tooling as needed for part machiningEnsure productivity to meet delivery deadlinesPropose and implement process improvementsProgram 3, 4, and 5-axis machines, including live tool lathesRequired Experience:
5+ years of experience programming with Mastercam/Fusion 360 or equivalent, with expert-level knowledge of Fusion 3605+ years of experience in post-weld machining and programming5+ years of experience managing teams and collaborating with machinists on prove-outs5+ years of experience in 5-axis programming, particularly for post-weld machining, with tight GD&T tolerances5+ years of experience operating 5-axis gantry millsKnowledge of quality management systems (AS9100, GD&T)Proficiency with Haas, Okuma, and Gantry-type mills and routersExperience with machining hardened metalsStrong understanding of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
