In this role, you will use your organizational skills and office experience to make a meaningful difference in your community. The Program Assistant supports the entire agency by providing administrative support to caseworkers and attorneys, reporting directly to the Program Manager and assisting the Supervising Immigration Advocate.The candidate should have experience and a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment and interact with clients, staff, and guests professionally, with a focus on client-centered services. This position requires advanced experience with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.Responsibilities :Assist with office-related support and administrative tasksSchedule appointments for Affirmative Services Programming staffAnswer, refer, and assist live calls on Immigration Phone LineParticipate in community workshops, information sessions, and outreach activitiesProvide a client-centered experience for all potential clientsConduct immigration legal screenings for individuals and familiesSupport Intake Team with fielding a high volume of callsSupport Immigration Legal Team with emergency response and follow-upStay up to date on rapidly changing immigration laws and policiesComply with data and program reporting requirementsAssist AS staff to prepare and mail immigration filingsAdapt to constant changes and assist the team as necessarySkills/Experience/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:One year of prior relevant experience providing administrative supportAbility to prioritize, multi-task, and organize in a fast-paced environmentDedicated to providing high-quality, client-centered legal assistanceProficient in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook, and TeamsDetail-oriented with strong oral and written communication skills in EnglishExperience working in cross-cultural settingsExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to take initiative and work under pressureAbility to work both independently and with a teamValid driver’s license, access to an automobile, and willingness to drive to offsite locationsSkills/Abilities We’d Like You to Have:Fluency in Arabic, Haitian Creole, Russian, Persian, Pashto, or an East Asian languageExperience working with immigrant populationsExperience working with marginalized populations and survivors of traumaFamiliarity with trauma-informed servicesIncomplete submissions will not be considered.
