General Statement of Duties:
Administer the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW) Grant to reduce sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking on campus. This position is part of the Office of Student Affairs.
Classification:
12-month (full-time) professional position; 1 year grant funded position with possible renewal for 3 additional years.
Supervision Received:
Reports to the Executive Director of Student Services (EDSS)
Supervision Exercised:
Student Worker(s)
Education:
Master’s degree preferred in education, psychology, social sciences, social work, or related field. Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
Preferred minimum of 5 years of experience working in sexual assault prevention programs, victim advocacy or a related field.
License or Certification:
Valid Driver’s License
FLSA:
Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and serve as the point of contact for the OVW Grant from the Department of Justice, including but not limited to:
Implementation of grant program (activities, policies, and protocols), grant reports and assessment, OVW correspondence, and budget management.
The OVW grant will require the Program Director to be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the grant program and activities:
Assist in the creation of a Coordinated Community Response (CCR) team
Coordinate training for campus security guards, student conduct hearing officers, faculty, staff and students
Improve the university’s response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking (SDDVS) for students
Enhance mandatory SDDVS education for all incoming students
Conduct prevention and education programming
Assist EDSS with data collection & publication of annual Clery Act Campus Crime Report
Secondary Job Duties:
Participate in CARE Team meetings and manage Student of Concern (SOC) caseload as assigned by EDSS
Assist EDSS with student caseload as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by EDSS
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
Ability to evaluate and assess crisis situations
Demonstrated comprehension of prevention efforts and the dynamics of SDDVS in a campus environment
Experience and demonstrated effective skills in project and budget management
Experience in successful grant reporting
Knowledge of federal laws regarding the topic including VAWA, Clery, and Title IX and distinctions between each
Commitment to diversity and inclusion
Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends for programming
Ability to travel in order to attend the OVW mandated trainings
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media, coordinating events, and program evaluation
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements are within the general range of an office position. The job requires extensive wrist and hand movements for computer tasks, and a certain amount of stooping, bending, carrying, kneeling, and walking. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others, or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions of the job. The job may require unusual or irregular work hours.
Conditions of Employment:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employee must be able and willing to travel and provide recruitment assistance to external campuses. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
