Whether you’re an experienced professional, a recent college graduate or somewhere in between, IDEX is a place where you can apply your existing skills and learn new ones in an environment where you can make an impact.The Supplier Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance support to the product development team, resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop/improve/maintain the incoming inspection processes for purchased finished goods and create the infrastructure to support the incoming inspection activities and reporting of findings. Ensure tests and procedures are carried out in a timely manner and the results evaluated, statistically analyzed, and reported.Identify gaps in purchased items specifications and assist in the development of new quality standards when necessary. Work cross-functionally with Airtech team members and vendors to improve specifications and incoming quality.Issue SCARs to vendors for incoming inspection failures, follow up to ensure vendors identify root cause and implement permanent and irreversible corrective actions.Track and report SCAR status and monthly vendor scorecards.Implement statistical tools/techniques to evaluate vendor performance and identify trends that could impact end user satisfaction.Lead teams in new supplier qualifications when a need has been identified. E.g. existing supplier replacement, low-cost sourcing, outsourcing opportunities, etc.Conduct on-site/remote supplier audits to ensure the quality and performance of delivered materials.Coordinate with Engineering and Supply Chain Management to engage suppliers in design/process improvements in the concept phase of product development.Function as a technical liaison between suppliers, engineering, SCM group, business group, and manufacturing sites, to resolve supplier-related issues.Develop and implement (APQP) Advanced Product Quality Planning for new and existing purchase parts.Review supplier processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement, and value enhancement opportunities.Perform other duties as assigned and within the scope of work.QUALIFICATIONS:Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices and defect management processes.Working experience with ISO 9001 Regulations preferred.Ability to work and perform in a team environment and effective interpersonal skills.Track record of successful business and customer orientation.Excellent written and verbal skills.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.Must be able to demonstrate aptitude in data-driven problem-solving techniques. Skilled in root cause and failure analysis diagnosis.Must be able to analyze and present fact-based management reporting with recommendations.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required.2 to 5 years of related work experience.Experience with Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, measuring equipment, lean manufacturing preferred.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
