AV Technology Specialist

Gonzaga College High School is seeking an experienced, full-time AV Technology Specialist. Located in Washington, DC, and founded in 1821, Gonzaga is a Jesuit college preparatory school for young men in grades 9-12; we offer a values-oriented and academically challenging curriculum to students of diverse backgrounds from all over the Washington area.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in event technology or audio-visual technology. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of event operations and high technological literacy. The candidate must be able to meet deadlines, respond to both planned and urgent needs, and effectively work with and train others.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide technical support for events by setting up, testing, operating, and maintaining equipment throughout the campus as needed or training event leads to do the same.

Create, write, and edit clean and concise documentation/training/configuration instructions for installed AV systems.

Provide support to third-party organizations and outside groups before events including technical capabilities of equipment and venue, school policies, and procedures regarding use.

Coordinate third-party support for all installed AV equipment per maintenance schedules, as well as system design, installation timelines, and coordination of new or replacement systems.

Be an active member of the Event Coordination Committee and attend weekly event and activity coordination meetings.

Collaborate closely with the Facilities and Operations and Technology teams on physical plant aspects of AV and PA systems.

Be available for after-hours event support as needed based on the nature and size of events, and the school activity and event schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in event technology or audio-visual technology.

Ability to meet deadlines and respond to planned and immediate needs.

Ability to work with and effectively train faculty, staff, and students.

Knowledge of event operations and all aspects of event technology support including audio, visual, recording, and video (setup, configuration, operation, etc).

High technological literacy in the following:

Audio Systems:Proficiency with audio mixers, setting up and troubleshooting microphones and wireless microphones, portable audio systems (e.g., DJ kits), etc. Knowledge of Dante audio networking for routing digital audio a plus.

Presentation Technology:Competence in slide projection systems, including projectors and control software. Familiarity with integrating AV equipment into classrooms and event spaces is a plus.

General AV Setup:Experience setting up portable AV equipment for events, including speakers, monitors, and microphones. Background in live video production, knowledge of signal flow and wiring setups, and knowledge of NDI video feeds for streaming and video-over-IP applications are a plus.

The salary for this position ranges from $58,656 to $72,082 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
