PCA is seeking applicants for an
Area Operations Manager
position in the Northwest Area, which includes oversight of corrugated plant operations in Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Utah. This position requires travel approximately 50-75% of the time. The ideal candidate will be located along the I84 corridor between Richland, WA and Salt Lake City, UT.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:Establishing the Area’s strategic direction for annual capital plan including operational goals and expectations· Setting annual capital plan and managing spend plan with continued corporate adjustment as necessary· Supporting and coordinating strategic capital projects· Coordinating strategic, infrastructure, and maintenance capital with local operating plans· Managing and executing maintenance and discretionary capital planBuilding annual goals as well as optimizing and executing plans for the area including but not limited to:· Throughput· Maintenance planning and reliability· Training and coaching of location PMs and Superintendents in ability to meet corporate and area expectationsSupervising and leading area-assigned Plant Optimization Engineers (POE)· Developing annual goals· Creating and approving work assignments· Coordinating with corporate office on POE objectives· Fostering and ensuring employee developmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:· 8+ years of corrugated industry experience in a leadership/management role with a track record of success.· Strong financial & general business acumen.· Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing teams including:· Driving operational excellence for throughput, risk management, and quality systems· Establishing preventive and predictive equipment and facility maintenance reliability systems· Utilizing cost management techniques· Experience in facilitating large and/or complex strategic business initiatives.· Demonstrated ability to drive a market-based capital project including qualification (ROI), scoping, and execution.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in a modern high-speed equipment technology environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:· Ability to lead through vision, values, and trust (safety, integrity, work ethic, servant leader)· Strategic or big picture thinker; market and customer-focused· Ability to engage employees and foster a continuous improvement culture· Ability to build strategic partnerships (customers, suppliers, corporate and sister plant partners)· Ability to inspire, mentor and develop managers and front-line leaders for NWA culture· Strong work ethic, resilient, independent initiative, tenacious, driven, and competitive· Excellent written and verbal communication and uncanny ability to follow through on plans and details· Demonstrative capability to create and manage software, as necessary, for building capital plans, project plans, and action registers in automated applications
