The Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) Division Manager III is responsible for overseeing the work activities in the assigned sections. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.Functions
Directs the activities of a medium to large professional and administrative support staff through lower-level managers, including approving hiring recommendations, reviewing performance evaluations, and evaluating the performance of immediate subordinates.Develops and administers divisional budget activities, monitors expenditures, and readjusts budget allocations when necessary.Analyzes productivity levels and error statistics for each section or office, prepares reports to supervisors identifying problems and recommendations.Monitors tax collection and processing activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures.Delivers technical assistance concerning problems and procedures, interprets applicable statutes and regulations, and makes decisions on contested assessments or child support related issues.Recommends changes to improve the effectiveness of the section or child support division and disseminates changes in policies, procedures, and regulations with employees.Performs other duties as assigned.Dimensions

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in accounting, public administration, business administration, or a program-related area; plus four years of experience in finance, accounting, or a program related area, including three years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.Licenses
