Position Details
The Department of Economics in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Economics at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, beginning in Fall 2025. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in Development Economics or Public Economics. Expectations include high-quality scholarly research, teaching excellence, engagement in service (commensurate with rank), and an appreciation of the university’s mission.Candidates should be able to teach upper-division undergraduate courses in their field (e.g., Development Economics or Public Finance), as well as other courses depending on departmental needs, such as an undergraduate course in econometrics. The initial teaching load is four undergraduate or graduate courses per year.We expect candidates to demonstrate the potential for excellent research, with a clear research agenda and future pipeline for impactful service.Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of an earned Ph.D. in Economics by the date of appointment. Candidates should demonstrate an interest, ability, and willingness to support curriculum and scholarship in the domain of development economics or public economics.Application Details
