The Transportation Analyst is responsible for providing insights and analysis to support efficient transportation and warehouse operations at Ardagh Metal Packaging – North America (AMP-NA). By developing key performance metrics and identifying cost-saving opportunities, the analyst plays a critical role in optimizing logistics and supporting data-driven decision-making across departments.Responsibilities:Provide analytical support to carriers, warehouses, plants, and departmentsAct as a subject matter expert (SME) in AMP-NA’s transportation management systems (TMS) and technologyManage the TMS to track and optimize load efficiency and logistics performanceLeverage Power BI and other data tools to analyze transportation services and costsIdentify and solve logistical challengesProvide actionable insights to support decisions on logistics strategy, vendor performance, and forecastingBuild and maintain cost-benefit models for logistics projectsTrack vendor performance against goals and analyze trade-offs for budget impactsCollect, clean, and synthesize data from multiple sources using advanced tools like SQL, Pivot Tables, and VB Macros for data analysisMap processes and workflows to identify improvements in cross-functional collaboration and efficiencyEnsure data integrity and accuracy across systems by validating, storing, and protecting key informationIdentify cost-saving initiatives such as drop trailer programs, dock scheduling optimization, and shipper-of-choice offeringsServe as the SME for logistics systems, supporting users, developing new reports, and conducting training sessions for peers, plant employees, and vendorsIdentify potential risks related to transportation and logistics and propose mitigating strategiesWork with the sustainability team to identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions in transportation, such as optimizing routes or exploring alternative fuelsMinimum skills / qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related fieldTwo (2) years of logistics and transportation experience, with a focus on freight analysis and transportation systemsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to travel up to 10%Preferred skills / qualifications:Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization toolsFamiliarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemsExperience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) or Application Programming Interface (API) processesFamiliarity with different modes of transportation, including ground transportation and railAbout Ardagh GroupArdagh Glass Packaging is a global leader in glass packaging solutions, producing packaging for the world’s leading brands.
