Job PurposeAs a Capital Procurement Manager (CPM) working on the Capital and Operations Procurement team, you will be managing the commercials of key contracts to support LP’s strategic expansion projects. The CPM is an integral part of our project management group closely managing our supply chain to maintain schedule, adhere to budget and strategically achieve cost avoidance. The CPM develops and negotiates all facets of contracts for goods and services. This includes strategic sourcing activities such as category management, pre-qualification, and benchmarking.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
Develop contract proposals (RFPs) to support organization goals, issue via the Ariba platform, coordinate with interfacing disciplines and 3rd parties, tabulate proposals, manage clarifications, develop recommendations, and present to key stakeholders.
Analyze and reduce risk within the supply chain during all facets of contract negotiations including post-award management.
Deliver to the budget by driving the basis of estimate while also exercising differentiated supply chain strategies, negotiation, and cost avoidance, while maintaining and improving equipment and services quality.
Accurate contract development for capital goods and services including all associated exhibits, negotiating terms and issuance to successful parties.
Monitor and manage contract compliance and performance of deliverables. Includes providing timely and accurate notice. Prepare change notices and manage claims mitigation.
Expedite supply base against delivery dates, key milestones and in accordance with the project schedule.
Develop and drive global, regional and local strategies for the Capital category. Includes research of suppliers/contractors, intense internal coordination, develop and administer Requests for Information (RFIs), desktop analysis and shop inspections.
Build and maintain supplier relationships to deliver high performance at optimal cost while mitigating operational risk. Lead contract and supplier performance reviews.
Drive opportunities across sites/businesses to consolidate spend and sustain benefits.

What do I need to be successful?
5-7 years’ capital project procurement/supply management experience.
3+ years prior experience in contract administration of related field preferred.
Strong commercial mindset.
Strong attention to detail in composing and proofing documents.
Strong working knowledge of the technical procurement process.
Technical capabilities to administer sourcing events (RFQs, RFPs) in Ariba.
Strong negotiation ability beginning with strategy development, coordinating stakeholder input and decisions to executing commercial terms with supply base.
Strong technical skills in Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook.
Self-motivated with disciplined approach to manage conflicting priorities, scheduling, meeting deadlines and tracking activities.
Team oriented and ability to work with a variety of people at all levels.
Work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.
Confident communication skills including speaking and presenting in technical forums.
Ability to chair meetings ranging from sourcing inquiries, RFP explanations, bid clarifications, negotiations, kick-offs, routine status between multiple parties to claims mitigation.
Strong reading comprehension and composition skills for internal communication as well as formal communication with supply base.
Maintain orderly and detailed files including properly managing revisions, schedules, correspondence, clarifications, deviations/changes, and amendments.
Create and maintain regular status reports on equipment and service contracts.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field.
Work Environment
This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule.
Must live within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area.
Low, intermittent travel may be required.
