SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Quality Management System. The Quality Control Manager develops, implements, and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced composite materials and applications (consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals). The position supervises Quality Control Coordinator(s) and has a direct line of reporting to the Director of Operations, and a dotted line to our Manager, Quality Systems and Compliance.This role offers a competitive salary based on experience starting at 70k annually, with a generous leave and benefits package. Benefits package includes:Health (3 plans to choose from)DentalVisionLife & AD&D and Voluntary LifeShort-term Disability, Long-term DisabilityVoluntary Accident, Critical Care, Medical BridgeFlexible Spending AccountsHealth Savings Account401(k) w/generous employer matchVoluntary Pet Insurance10 paid holidaysAnd more!ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure the Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO, and regulatory requirements.Update quality documentation to ensure best and correct practices are in place.Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing quality control objectives.Work with management and supervisory team on developing and executing corrective action plans related to quality concerns: complaints, global corrective actions, other chronic quality issues.Identify and record quality-related problems, initiate action to prevent nonconformance, and recommend solutions.Oversee customer requested audits. Develop Corrective Action Plans for non-conformities discovered during those audits.Communicates, coaches, trains, and guides direct reports and discuss any issues/concerns.When necessary, ensure that trial runs are designed and conducted in a manner intended to identify potential quality issues and resulting in a quality plan aimed at preventing non-conformances.Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.Investigate, document all customer issues and complaints determining root cause for each issue and corrective actions.Supervise inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.Interact with vendors to ensure the quality of all purchased parts.Maintain an active role on internal continuous improvement teams managed by Director of Process Improvement.Develop and implement Quality Management Systems, i.e. ISO, GMP, AIB, and SQF-2 in conjunction with Manager, Quality Systems and Compliance.Establish SOPs for all quality processes and procedures to maintain consistency, accuracy, and controlled results.Responsible for all local food safety.Staff, manage and allocate competent and knowledgeable QA Technician personnel to support the facility production operation.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESPlant Safety Coordinator Role - Assisting in and/or Managing Activities Such as:Safety Committee CoordinationMonthly and/or Weekly Inspections as requiredAccident Investigations as necessary with corrective follow upJOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong project management skills; highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking and time management.Must have strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to effectively present information to others.Ability to think strategically and creatively in generating solutions.Familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state, and local regulations.Ability to gain a detailed understanding of our business to perform accurate quality control measures.Attention to detail.Analysis, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws, and pose solutions to those flaws.Ability to operate under tight deadlines while still meeting standards.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONBachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.Prior audit experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, SQF preferred.Strong data management skills preferred.Experience using Google Suites (Sheets, Docs, Drive).SQF Practitioner preferred.Knowledge of industry good manufacturing practices and standards, quality management systems, and compliance to FDA requirements.A solid knowledge of polymers and films properties and a good understanding of the production processes used by the converting industry - printing, coating, lamination, metallization, slitting, and bag making.Experience in markets such as fresh produce, pet food, lawn and garden packaging industries desirable.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job the employee will be located throughout production and around moving mechanical parts and vibrations.ePac believes in a collaborative and cross-trained workforce and encourages all employees to learn all facets of production.
