part-time position
supports the HII-NNS San Diego CVN Project Office by planning and coordinating production related work supporting the maintenance and modernization of aircraft carriers in San Diego, California.This person will report to the HII-NNS San Diego Program Manager for all aspects in ship repair and modernization. Defines work objectives and maintains routine contact to communicate overall work status and specific production problems, which could negatively affect schedules. Assists the HII-NNS Lead Superintendent and Program Manager with day-to-day operations of aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization planning and execution. Provides technical advice and leadership to the Project Team.What You Will Do
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with the applicable local and federal regulations.Plans and reviews schedules to establish priorities for work activities in support of CVN projects.Identifies potential project level risks to schedule or technical criteria.Identifies and implements Risk Mitigation plans.Engage with Customers (SWRMC, US Navy, CNAF, and PSNSY) in meetings and discussions to discuss ongoing work, coordination, and issues.What You Must Have
6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.Must have experience supporting US Navy ship maintenance availabilities in a shipyard environment.Must have experience coordinating and providing project oversight for US Naval ships mechanical, electrical and structural including modifications, installations, overhaul, and replacement and testing of mechanical, electrical and structural components.Must have experience progressing work to the Government customers and reviewing Technical Work Documents (TWDs) for accuracy and completeness.Must have experience ensuring compliance with QMS, SOPs, and SWPs related to assigned projects and developed project POA&Ms.Must be able to obtain and maintain base access and ships access.Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
