This role is integral to the long-term growth and success of the company and requires a driven and passionate candidate who is energized to work with a strong team.Job Summary:Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Business Development, the Water/Wastewater Business Development Representative will coordinate and work with the Business Development team, Operations, Marketing, and Pursuit teams, initiate contact with prospective clients, attend various tradeshows and industry events, conduct market analysis, and develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.This position will focus on developing and capturing work related to private and governmental clients including water resources, water/wastewater, conveyance, and treatment. This position supports a proactive and growing company by providing research and generating leads and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key owners, designers, and other industry contacts. The Water/Wastewater Business Development Representative will assist the Executive VP of BD with developing a strategy that provides innovative technical solutions to our national infrastructure clients.Ideal Candidate:Core Attributes:Grit and Resiliency - We dig deep to figure out how to make things happen no matter how impossible it seems. We never give up.Comradery and Inspirational - We are a hard-working team of like-minded individuals working toward a common goal.Driven and Competitive - We love competition and learning from our experiences.Trustworthy and Respectful - We value honesty, authenticity, and transparency.Ownership and Accountability - We regularly challenge ourselves and those around us to be better.Education:BS Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Construction, Marine or another related field.Experience:Five years’ professional experience in the business development department within an A/E/C firm.Experience with a CRM Database, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.A proven track record in the Water/Wastewater market required.Skills:Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate very well with all levels within the organization.Well organized and strong attention to detail.Highly motivated and high-energy in nature, with the ability to function well in a fast-paced team environment.Must possess a professional demeanor that builds trusting relationships.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, oral and interpersonal skills.Passionate about career advancement through results-based performance.Self-starter and able to work autonomously.Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications.Strong keyboarding skills.Responsibilities:Establish, maintain, and expand the existing network of clients and organizations.Prepare and deliver presentations and pitches to prospective clients.Leverage knowledge of markets to effectively communicate Ballard’s services.Support the improvement of business processes through analysis and collaboration.Report on and act on market conditions, activities, and trends.Articulate Ballard’s strategic vision to key stakeholders.Coordinate pre-show planning and post-show activities for trade shows.Work with the BD and Operational teams to implement growth initiatives.Perform market research to identify new opportunities.Maintain a pipeline of Leads and Opportunities within the CRM.Ensure effective education of internal and external clients.Drive alternative procurement and revenue-generating opportunities.Work with Operations to develop project pursuits for winning proposals.Other duties as assigned.Physical Demands Working Environment:May visit project sites and work in varied weather conditions.Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.Benefits:Ballard offers a comprehensive benefits package and provides a culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion.
