Ballard is an amazing place to work, and if what we’ve said resonates with you, you just might be right for us!This position could work out of our office located in Loomis, CA.Job Summary:Under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Business Development, the Business Development Lead will develop close working relationships with the Business Development, Operations, Marketing, and Pursuit teams. The focus of the role will be to initiate contact with prospective clients, attend various tradeshows and industry events, conduct market analysis, and develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.Ideal Candidate:Core Attributes:Grit and Resiliency - We dig deep to figure out how to make things happen no matter how impossible it seems. No politics.Ownership and Accountability - When something goes wrong, we first “look in the mirror” before we “look out the window.”Education:Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent education/experienceExperience:Five years’ professional experience in the business development department of a construction or design firm within infrastructure.Experience with a CRM Database, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.Skills:Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate very well with all levels within the organization.Proven track record in Ballard’s markets of the Power, Water/Wastewater, Industrial, Environmental, and Transportation Industries.Well organized and strong attention to detail.Highly motivated and high-energy in nature, with the ability to function well in a fast-paced team environment.Must possess a professional demeanor that builds trusting relationships.Responsibilities:Coordinate pre-show planning, attend, and complete post-show activities for National and regional trade shows.Work with the BD team to support the strategic identification and implementation of new markets.Perform market research to identify new opportunities to target.
