JOB SUMMARY:
CERM is seeking a qualified Sustainability Specialist I. The person holding this position will report to the CERM Environmental Business Group Manager. CERM is a multi-disciplined, integrated consulting firm, that specializes in a wide range of services including engineering, survey, program management, environmental compliance, sustainability/resiliency planning, and green infrastructure design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The job will require the following list of duties.Assist with client sustainability programs and project developmentDevelop, coordinate, implement and monitor climate change policies and initiatives in support of client consultationsCoordinate with other professionals and/or government officials on sustainability policies and projects focused on waste reduction, energy reduction, water use reduction, clean air, social responsibility, electric vehicle infrastructure, and alternative fuelsProvide technical knowledge, guidance, data, support and advice in the area of environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, waste, recycling, climate change policies and initiatives, and public healthPrepare and provide annual reports and studies on the benefits and outcomes of sustainability programsDevelop marketing strategies to promote client sustainability initiativesAdvance client programs and policies to address environmental sustainabilityParticipate in meetings, as necessary, with other professionals and the publicAct as a public liaison on energy and resilience projects or other sustainability initiativesComplete sustainability projects, including sustainability grant writing, annual Sustainability Reports, data gathering, GHG inventory development with Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, waste diversion analysis, and other sustainability projectsCoordinate internal sustainability events (e.g. earth day event)Apply for and manage grant applications in support of client programsDevelop Project PlansGather and analyze data from various sourcesDevelop concise reports as directed (with minimal supervision)Submit assigned project research and documentation to Project ManagerMaintain project filesConduct interviews of project stakeholders and develop surveysDevelop project information sheetsLead and manage meetingsDocument public and stakeholder meetingsEffectively manage time on assigned tasksPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Planning or similar; plus,Minimum of three years of experience in community/urban/regional planning or aviation/transportation planning.A Master's Degree is a bonus.LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS (PREFERRED):

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.Public and Client meetings may require some walking, standing and lifting items generally less than 25 lbs.This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessaryWORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environmentThis role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machinesThis position may require some evening and/or weekend work
