CNC Programmer & MachinistDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview CAD Models and/or blueprints to determine ideal machining strategy, including what tools, speeds, feeds and work holding techniques to be utilized. Generate programs using CAM (Mastercam) software and run simulations to verify the program approach and revise as needed to increase efficiency and quality. Proficiency in both milling and turning (CNC & Manual machines). Will also include measuring, cutting and preparing raw material stock. Machine setup, including tool selection and touch off, probing etc. and loading stock into work holding or fixturing.Multiple unique setups will be required over the course of a day or week. Wide variety of different projects vs. high volume machining production.Has the ability to use precision measuring instruments including precision scales, calipers, micrometers, indicators, and understand the application of each to work within the specified tolerances of the tooling being built and the ability to work within specified time constraints. Final mechanical, plumbing and pneumatic assembly of tooling packages.Communicate with other programmers, management, operators, the engineering department, and Sales while maintaining a clean and safe work area and updating supplies as needed.Complies with the Quality Policy and the Quality Management system, familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 a plus.Observes and follows company safety rules and regulations and other duties as assigned by the Company to support manufacturing or maintenance initiatives.Has the ability to work in and contribute to an open team-oriented environment with the primary focus of understanding the function of thermoforming tooling as it relates to the manufacturing of custom thermoformed products, to include the following:Molds - From the simplest prototype to the most complex of production moldsPlug Assist (Helpers) - using various materials.Dies - Steel Rule, Forged and Match MetalStackers, End of Arm tooling for robotic automationSeal Tooling - Heat, RF, and ImpulseFixturing - Part molding for various production processes to include all secondary operations.EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITIONHigh School Graduate or GED2 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.College or Technical training in the application and the use of Computer Aided Manufacturing software; Mastercam experience a plus.Experience in Computer Aided Design; SolidWorks experience is a plus.Formal or On-the-Job Machinist training and the ability to read mechanical drawings.High level of mechanical aptitude, familiarity or experience in thermoforming is a plus.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe ability to communicate with management and other coworkers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common.Good math and reasoning abilities are essential. Must be able to understand and utilize engineering drawings, operating manuals, and blueprints to conduct business.WORK CONDITIONSThe job is performed indoors in a traditional office /machine shop setting. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer. Some medium lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally is required. Good manual dexterity for the use of mechanical equipment such as drills, lathes, mills, grinders, and other machines or measuring tools is required.Protective safety equipment - including appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves, and safety glasses - are needed. Activities include extended periods of standing and extensive work with measuring devices.
