POSITION SUMMARY
Candidate must currently reside in the Lewisville/Dallas area and be bilingual in Spanish/English.
This position is accountable for providing support to the Human Resources Department of Orion. This position will be responsible for recruitment & staffing, employee benefits administration, HRIS/HCM systems, employee orientations and training, diversity & EEO initiatives and employee relations. Typically, the incumbent will interface with all employees at assigned location/s.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides feedback and acts as a liaison for the Human Resources department on employee and business issues that have an impact on the organization.Partners with members of HR, management team and field employees on all HR backend operational employee services issues.Contributes to the periodic required updating and distribution of the Employee Handbook, Company's Policies and Procedures and other Company publications distributed to employees.Provides support and ensures consistency in the interpretation and implementation of Human Resource policies, practices, and procedures.Assists with employee service, quarries, and supports all employee HR operational needs.Provides first level functional support to employees needing assistance with Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) for HR data related transactions.Provides excellence in customer service while fielding and responding to all internal HR related inquiries.Cross-trains within group to ensure coverage.Participates in HR-driven engagement initiatives.Provides support for the staffing process ensuring that qualified candidates are identified on a timely basis for both hourly and salaried position openings.Participates in college recruiting activities and career fairs at local universities to attract and hire qualified candidates.Tracks and utilizes the most efficient and cost-effective recruitment tools to identify qualified candidates in the workforce, i.e., LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media.Processes new hire paperwork, including performing E-Verify and other background checks, MVRs, as required.Maintains employee personnel folders and ensures that all required new hire paperwork and documentation has been completed and properly filed.Distributes employee benefit plan information to new employees on a timely basis to inform them of eligibility to participate in the group healthcare plan, 401(k) Retirement Plan, supplemental life insurance and LTD, and pre-tax flexible spending account programs.Assists employees in answering group healthcare and 401(k) Retirement Plan questions and provides them with brochures and other information to help them with their benefit elections.Ensures that all employee separation information is processed timely.Assists the Director of Human Resources in communicating benefit program announcements and changes to all employees.Monitors and tracks FMLA, other leaves of absences, and coordinates needed actions between the employee and the Company.Provides documentation support for unemployment claims.Inputs all required information on new employees into the HRIS/HCM system and updates employees' records as changes occur.Creates custom reports as requested by local/corporate management such as employee lists, address lists, compensation reports, benefit plan participants, etc.Provides supplemental support to the HR leadership and/or senior management on human resource projects.Develops and updates Orion organizational charts, headcount reports, position descriptions and compensation surveys.Performs quarterly audits to ensure accuracy in the HRIS/HCM system.Performs new hire orientations with all new employees which includes a review of the Company, all employee benefits including enrollment, policies, and procedures.Conducts employee training in the areas of workplace diversity, EEO, harassment prevention, supervisory skills training, performance management, etc.Conducts the necessary management and employee training for government and private sector compliance as provided per job contracts.Updates the Affirmative Action Plan for Orion Marine Group on an annual basis and devises strategies to ensure proper utilization of protected classes in the work force.Coordinates employee social and wellness activities and functions such as cycling events, sporting events, holiday luncheons, company picnic and similar activities.Serves as Company representative for community involvement activities.Creates and administers correspondences to US Coast Guard for licensing regulations on all eligible employees to maintain licensing eligibility.EMPLOYEE SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A B.S. Degree in Human Resource management or related field with minimum 7 years Human Resources experience is required or equivalent work experience. Broad HR generalist background in Staffing & Recruitment, Benefit Administration, HR Information Systems, Policy Administration, Organizational Effectiveness, Internal Client Partnering, Diversity, Business Process Improvement, and HR Problem Solving is required. Prior experience with Ultimate Software is highly desired. PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
The incumbent must also be 1) an effective communicator (both verbal & written), 2) proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, 3) able to interface well with employees at all levels of the organization, and 4) able to travel on company business as required.
Discretion and trustworthiness, and the ability to keep all Company information and materials strictly confidential (both internally and externally) are essential elements of this position.
Must be well organized, diligent, and be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and to independently identify work to be done. Must be flexible and have the ability to adjust to sudden changes in work priorities. The incumbent must also have the ability to prioritize work generally and in order to accommodate those changes. Attention to detail and extreme care in performing tasks accurately and carefully are also essential.
