Our products can be seen in many airplanes, fighter jet canopies, helicopters, and banks for protection at teller windows, among others. We utilize technology, along with the skills and knowledge of our employees, to make quality products and strive to supply the highest quality acrylic sheet with the best possible service.This position is a key leadership role and an important member of the Plant operations team, as well as a resource and support team member of the Corporation’s EHS team. The EHS Manager is responsible for Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and operations at the manufacturing plant. This includes planning the EHS improvement plan in collaboration with Spartech’s policies, executing training systems across all plant functional areas, and ensuring full compliance with all corporate, city, county, state, and federal government Safety, Health, and Environmental laws and regulations.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDrive Safety, Compliance, and Process improvement throughout the Stamford facility.Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, plant, and corporate EHS policies and procedures. Develop and maintain safety systems for the Stamford site.Support Emergency Response functions in accordance with the site emergency response plan.Collaborate with other functional departments to enhance employee engagement and reduce at-risk behaviors.Manage engagement to improve KPIs related to safety improvement.Perform risk assessments on operations and collaborate with employees on risk reduction.Lead RCCAs on near-misses and action items arising from JSOs.Maintain all required documentation and ensure timely external reporting.Ensure compliance with regulatory, site, and corporate requirements for equipment and facilities.Manage site project activities to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.Complete all EHS reporting timely and accurately, including required government and agency reporting.Ensure programs exist for necessary employee monitoring and testing requirements.Collaborate with Operations Management to define goals and projects related to yield improvement and compliance.Manage EHS and Compliance projects for improvement.Other duties as assigned.Required Education:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, Engineering, or related field.Three (3) years of experience in the EHS field.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Understanding of compliance regulations and their application to the facility.Knowledge of Title V and Water treatment systems.Knowledge of PSM.Ability to lead RCCAs.Ability to read and interpret EHS standards and regulations.Ability to write operational and project reports, correspondence, and policies.Effective communication skills with all levels in the organization.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).This position reports to the Stamford, CT Plant Manager.We offer
