Faculty Position at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego - Paleomagnetism/Marine Geophysics. The Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego invites applications for a full-time 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. We seek to attract and retain outstanding, diverse faculty members who integrate observations and methodologies from paleomagnetism/marine geophysics to address research questions in the Earth and planetary sciences. We have a particular interest in strengthening our current expertise in using observations and quantitative analyses to advance the fields of paleomagnetism, marine geodesy, or marine electromagnetism. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous externally funded research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Earth science, and establish inclusive teaching practices. Supervision and mentoring of diverse graduate students and service to the department, university, and broader discipline will be expected in this role.Scripps is dedicated to advancing belonging, equity, justice, and accessibility for all who are or wish to be members of our community.
