The successful candidate would link our faculty clusters in Ancient Mediterranean and Early Modern History. We view as desirable the ability to conduct research in a range of languages, as well as the ability to situate the lands of Mediterranean Europe in a broader nexus of connections (commercial, political, religious, and other) that extend to Northern Europe, North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean, and perhaps Central Asia. Faculty are expected to have an inclusive approach to mentoring and advising that incorporates working with women and underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students.The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2025. Duties include active research, graduate supervision, classroom teaching at all levels, and department and university service. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in Medieval/Renaissance History.QualificationsBasic qualifications
