This is a full-time, remote position. We supported working from home before the pandemic and will keep doing so. If you prefer, you’re welcome to work from our Washington state offices.
Duties may include:
Researching and preparing NEPA, CEQA, and SEPA documents, including Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI), Records of Decisions (ROD), Categorical Exclusions (CEs), and Biological Assessments (BAs), and other compliance documents.
Serving as Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and/or Lead monitor on projects
Preparing detailed technical reports, chapters, and documents.
Performing high-quality, precise work using scientific protocols
Interpreting data and providing insights.
Supporting public scoping processes.
Taking, summarizing, and responding to public comments.
Organizing, running, and participating in client meetings, public scoping meetings, and hearings.
Assisting in the development of project bids and budgets.
Ensuring project quality while adhering to schedules and budgets.
Who you are
This role is perfect for someone with experience in environmental consulting and NEPA-related work. You should be adept at managing multiple tasks successfully. Excellent interpersonal, scientific writing and research skills are required.
You must have:
BS degree in environmental planning, environmental sciences, biology, or a related field.
Undergraduate studies or post-graduate research work in environmental planning is a plus.
Three (3) plus years of experience writing NEPA documents.
Two (2) plus years of project management experience.
Our ideal match also has:
Experience in wildlife or fisheries, particularly with West Coast or Pacific species.
Familiarity with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and other environmental laws and regulations is a plus.
Experience working with SEPA, CEQA, HEPA, or your state’s environmental policy act is a plus.
Stellar scientific writing and research skills, with a keen eye for quality and detail.
Background working with agencies/public through the NEPA process.
Prior environmental consulting experience.
Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork as needed.
What we offer
Salary: $55,500 to $75,000, depending on experience
