The primary objective is to optimize Utilities plant processes, focusing on reducing cost per ton through process system improvements. The successful candidate must effectively interface with both operations and maintenance personnel, ensuring accountability of crews and team members with first-line leaders. Additionally, they will drive continuous improvement through variability reduction, training, outage planning, and daily operating strategies, acting as the process expert for Utilities operations.Key Accountabilities:Actively assisting Utilities members in managing all aspects of safety to meet Mill and department objectives.Providing leadership and daily operational support for all Utilities department operating systems.Supporting the implementation of GMS elements related to operations.Assisting in reducing costs for chemical makeup, purchased energy, and fuels.Contributing to reducing constrained area downtime and paper machine external downtime.Ensuring environmental compliance within the Utilities departments.Continuously improving Utilities work systems, including centerlines and basic care.Participating in the MWS process to set area priorities.Assisting in Utilities outage coordination and scheduling.Filling in for Utilities area managers as needed.The Skills You Will Bring:B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.At least three years of experience supporting Mill operations.Power and/or Utilities area experience and Green Belt certification preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Functional in Word, SAP, Excel.Supervision experience (permanent or temporary).Key Competencies:Command SkillsAction OrientedOrganizational SkillsManaging and Measuring WorkPriority SettingBuilding Effective TeamsConflict ManagementThe Benefits You Will Enjoy:Paid time off including Vacation and Holidays.Retirement, pension, and 401k Matching Program.Medical & Dental.Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement).Life & Disability Insurance.The Career You Will Build:Leadership training.Promotional opportunities.The Impact You Will Make:We continue to build a better future for people, the planet, and our company!
