About the Position
The Supply Chain Expeditor will be responsible for supporting the Purchasing & Manufacturing Team in all aspects of Purchasing and Supply Chain requirements, including coordination of supply chain and logistic activities, purchasing activities, and support continuous improvement programs.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers and supply chain staff:
Build strong, cooperative relationships with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and mutual understanding.
Liaising with the supply chain daily:
Communicate with supply chain partners on a daily basis to stay informed of any updates, challenges, or changes to delivery schedules.
Chasing suppliers to achieve On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery:
Follow up regularly with suppliers to ensure that orders are delivered accurately and on time, meeting the required standards for OTIF delivery.
Identifying and communicating supply chain concerns to internal stakeholders:
Proactively identify any potential issues within the supply chain and promptly communicate these to relevant internal teams to avoid disruptions.
Updating the company MRP system (Sage) with delivery information:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the MRP system (Sage), ensuring all delivery information is logged for tracking and analysis.
Conduct regular meetings with suppliers to manage concerns & delivery performance:
Schedule and conduct regular meetings with suppliers to address any performance issues and implement improvements to delivery processes.
Assist with reporting of OTIF metrics:
Help in compiling and reporting OTIF performance metrics to monitor and improve supply chain efficiency.
Identify new solutions for logistical challenges:
Proactively seek innovative solutions to overcome logistical challenges and enhance the efficiency of supply chain operations.
Support the efficient running of the company's collection services:
Provide assistance to ensure that the company's collection services run smoothly and meet operational demands.
Ensure compliance with company supply chain procedures, standards, and regulations:
Ensure that all supply chain activities are in strict compliance with company policies, standards, and relevant regulations to maintain operational integrity and quality.
About You:
Organisational Skills:
Highly organised, resourceful, and dependable with a strong attention to detail and efficiency.
Engineering Background:
Beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Team Player:
Confident in collaborating with overseas supply partners in Europe, North America, and the Far East.
Decision Making:
Assertive and capable of making autonomous decisions in supply chain management.
Negotiation Skills:
Skilled in negotiation and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a high level of accuracy.
Location Requirement:
Must live within a 1-hour commute.
