The Newsfeed .Our newsroom gives audiences the facts and analysis they need to participate in important conversations about our communities.We host numerous in-person events (many at our new home on First Hill), including forums, discussions, film screenings, and the renowned Cascade PBS Ideas Festival.Role Responsibilities:The Cascade PBS’s mission is to inform and inspire our community to make the world a better place.Our vision is to be the most essential and relevant media organization in the region.The major gift officer will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective major donors and secure gifts at the $2,500+ level to reach more people, build a strong organization, and to be the most essential and relevant media organization in the region, while demonstrating Cascade PBS’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity.Hourly rate:

include :11 paid holidays1 personal holiday4 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) to startCompany-matched 401(k) Retirement Plan that is fully-vested immediatelyEmployer paid ORCA cardEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)MedicalVisionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIESManage the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors by developing relationships with major donors ($2,500+) focusing on individuals with potential of $25,000 or more.Develop and implement a cultivation and solicitation strategy for each assigned current and prospective major donor.Prepare solicitation strategies, meeting briefings, written proposals, and impact reports for use during donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.Cultivate and solicit donors through high-touch personal communications and exceptional customer service.Achieve 6-8 face-to-face visits with donors each month (unless donor indicates otherwise) that move the donor to towards a major gift commitment.Record and track all activity using Cascade PBS’ prospect management and tracking system. Prepare, review, and edit written proposals, agreements, gift illustrations, and other materials needed to secure and steward major gifts.Develop appropriate stewardship activities for each donor within the context of the overall stewardship plan.Create monthly reports as required or requested that reflect caseload activity.Attend development planning meetings and development department meetings to develop deep understanding of organizational programs, priorities, and goals to accurately present them to donors.Clearly communicate Cascade PBS’ mission to donors.Work with events team, production team, and journalists to plan donor stewardship and cultivation initiatives.Develop and maintain relationships with business and community leaders as well as other development officers within the community.Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of Cascade PBS.Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without noticeCandidate Qualifications:
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESMust excel in working with high net-worth individuals, families, and businesses and have the ability to compel investment in the Cascade PBS mission.Thorough working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.Strong research skills, fundraising database and membership management experience required.Extensive local and regional travel throughout Washington required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEFive years’ experience fundraising for non-profit organizations required.Demonstrated successful experience and effectiveness in prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation, and Board interaction required.ROI CRM experience preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have a valid driver’s license or reliable means of transportation to meet requirements of the job.Ability to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.Ability to view data on a computer screen for long periods of time.Ability to regularly type on a keyboard.Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.Cascade PBS is committed to building a team that represents a diversity of thought, experience and personal background.
