Description

In this position, you will provide administrative and patient care support to various ambulatory practices. You will assist in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge, process prior authorizations and complete Surgery Scheduling tasks. You will work as a member of the Ambulatory Care clinic team to provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. You will support different teams/practices to cover illnesses, holidays, and leaves of absence.This role requires a Team Assistant with a highly flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach as you will travel to UCLA Community practices in the cities listed below:CalabasasMontecitoPorter RanchSanta BarbaraSanta ClaritaSanta MariaSimi ValleyVenturaWestlake VillageSalary range: $29.42 - $29.42/HourlyQualifications

Required:Ability to be highly flexible, travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health community based practices and work a variable scheduleKnowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage providedExperience working in a healthcare settingKnowledge of medical terminologySkill in using a PC with associated programs including Word, Excel, and E-mail, demonstrated work experience with a database computer programSkill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilitiesAbility to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients from various social, cultural, and economic backgroundsAbility to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environmentSkill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situationsPreferred:Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflowsFamiliarity and knowledge of authorization process and managed care programsWorking knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programsKnowledge of hospital computer system and the various software products to perform administrative work
