Regeneron is currently seeking an Associate Director to join our Downstream Sciences and Investigations (DSIG) team. The Associate Director- Process Sciences leads a lab-based team responsible for the assessment of changes to raw materials and their impact on Manufacturing operations and product quality. The role also maintains awareness of industry and regulatory trends to manufacturing technologies and material sciences to assess and support implementation within IOPS to remain at the forefront of the industry.As an Associate Director- Process Sciences, a typical day may include:Leading cross-functional teams in generating and analyzing data to assess raw material attributes for impact on new and existing manufacturing processes, including change notifications, secondary sourcing, raw material investigations, and impurity/byproduct/extractable risk assessments.Performing risk assessments for changes to raw materials to determine potential impact on the processes.Leading projects by developing appropriate plans, schedules, resource loading, and other project deliverables as required. Overseeing studies and technical justifications, which may include authoring protocols, executing study protocols, and writing summary reports of results.Building systems and structures to manage and prioritize work against business drivers and various departmental needs. Coordinating prioritization of activities with area management.Collaborating with manufacturing to assess emerging technologies for potential fit into manufacturing operations. Assessing feasibility and cost/benefit analysis to justify proceeding towards deployment.Reviewing and approving study protocols and summary reports generated by the process sciences staff against established procedures and providing guidance to staff writing protocols and final reports.Leading a team of process scientists and engineers who investigate and troubleshoot problems, determining solutions or recommendations for changes and/or improvements.Approving various documents relating to area function, including those listed above.Providing direction and assigning work to process scientists and engineers to meet goals and timings.Responsible for compliance monitoring of area operations, including lab and documentation activities.Participating in regulatory and customer activities, including audits and GMP inspections.Collaborating with functional departments to resolve issues.This role may be for you if you:Are willing to travel up to 5% (international & domestic).Have previous operational & scientific experience in the pharmaceutical industry.Continuously seek to improve processes for improved performance.Enjoy leading a team of scientific & engineering-minded professionals.Have previous leadership experience, including leading a team to meet department goals, performance evaluation/feedback, and mentorship.To be considered for the Associate Director- Process Sciences, you must have a B.S. in Engineering or Life Sciences; a Master's degree or PhD is preferred, along with 10+ years of relevant experience.
